Inviting Parents, Relatives and Friends | Tourist Visa for Convocation

Inviting parents from Philippines to attend the Graduation Ceremony/Convocation in Canada from the Philippines are requiring for Visa, and the process may take longer. 

I will guide you through out the process and here are the lists that are needed in order to have a successful application and approval.

The International office does not provide any invitation letters, you should create your own invitation letter with the details below: 
Include these information of the Visitor (or you wish to invite):
First is the tourists' passport, it should be valid for at least 6 months. 
Do not also forget to include the following information of the applicant and their intent why they are applying for tourists'  visa. 
  • Complete Name
  • Date of Birth 
  • The address; it should be updated 
  • Duration of the trip (include expected arrival and departure) 
  • Include the convocation ceremony date
  • Details on accommodation and living expenses (Proof of funds)
  • Mention if you are employed or your ties in your home country
  • NBI (from the Philippines)
Proof of Funds: 
  • Bank Certificate 
  • Bank Statement 
  • Properties 
  • Insurance
  • Proof of Ownership & Investments 
Include the following information about yourself in your Invitation Letter:
  • Complete Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Present Address and Contact Number in Canada
  • Occupation 
  • Status in Canada ( Student, Work Permit, Permanent Resident, Citizen)
  • Mention if you will expense the visitor 
In your Gckey account, they are requiring you to submit an Invitation Letter; you may merge some documents with your Invitation Letter such as:
  • Convocation Letter from your School (mine is from Centennial College)
  • Study Permit 
  • PGWP Application
  • Graduation Letter, confirmation letter that you graduated and you finished your program
In Gckey Account, they will ask for a Proof of Relationship:
You should provide the following documents:
  • Passport of the Visitor, and the person who's in Canada
  • Birth Certificate (each)
Note: In each of Gckey account for Visitor Visa, there are 3 IMM Forms that you have to fill out, that asking about your own information, and family information. To access these forms you should have an Adobe Acrobat in your computer. 

The visitor should provide proof of economic and social ties; the more they mention a proof of ties in their home country, the greater the chance that they could get an approval from Canadian Immigration and convince the Immigration that they are returning to their home country. 

Economic ties: Bank statements, proof of ownership and investments, letter of employment, proof of property ownership, etc. 

Social Ties: Evidence of the relationships to people. (Family, pets, community, relatives, etc.)

It has been one year since I have seen my parents and therefore I would like to invite them to spend some time with me here in Canada. They intend to stay with me at my home for two weeks, from June 5 to 19, 20xx. Housing and food costs during their stay will be covered by me; they will cover all other expenses for their trip (state if someone will sponsor them). 

I am currently an international student at Centennial College in Toronto, Ontario or I have graduated at Centennial College last December 2022. I have attached a copy of my passport, study permit and my confirmation of enrolment letter, (or PGWP Application if you applied for it already). My date of birth is Month-Date-Year.
